Dr Richard Wise is a registered clinical psychologist.
He consults with people who are struggling with mental health issues, life stress, and general psychological distress
Assessment
Dr Wise uses psychological principles to clarify his client’s situation and explore a range of contributing factors. The assessment typically explores the intersection of the individual’s life history, psychological development, relationship patterns, personality, interpersonal systems, and other relevant factors. Assessment usually occurs across the first few sessions and may involve formal assessment measures such as questionnaires.
Psychotherapy
The next step is to create a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship. This includes developing a mutual understanding of the distress and exploring different ways to respond to it. The goal of these sessions is psychological growth and the promotion of well-being. Because people and the times we live in are both complex, this may require a substantial investment of the client’s time and effort.
Supervision
Dr Wise is available to supervise registered psychologists in both their day-to-day clinical work and the establishment of private practice. He has a particular interest in clinical governance and client engagement. He has proven experience developing systems and organisational structures within psychology clinics, and is skilled in establishing robust, compliant, safe, and sustainable clinical procedures.
